Ukraine urged India to support a proposed resolution against Russia. In order to battle Ukraine urged India to support a proposed resolution tabled at the UN General Assembly on the eve of the first anniversary of the Russian invasion, claiming that New Delhi’s cooperation was essential.

Yermak said “We know that Russia is preparing certain offensive actions, and we need to prepare for the response. The Russian army has been unmotivated, while Ukrainian warriors show extraordinary bravery and resilience. We will not stop until we save all our territories. We need only weapons”.
On 23rd February 2023 Yermak said Ukraine was seeking the broadest support from countries of the Global South, for the resolution to be voted on by the UN General Assembly.
Yermak also highlighted “Cooperation with India is very important” to Ukraine. We believe that India will support our resolution, as it contains very correct wording on the protection of borders and territorial integrity. Our goals are transparent and clear, we do not claim a single centimeter of Russian territory, we just need to get ours back”.
New Delhi has mostly voted on resolutions related to the Russian-Ukraine war in the UN General Assembly, including the Security Council and the Human Rights Council calling for Ukraine and Russia to resolve the issue.
